Does your baby having vesirokko/chickenpox injection ?
My local neuvola told me that it is not common for the Finnish parents to give vesirokko/chickenpox injection to the baby. Do you ? If you do, when do you give it to the baby ?

I had the vesirokko when 16 and I rather had had it as a kid my forehead still looks like somebody shot me with a shotgun... Anyways, usually kids are given the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine but the vesirokko is available as an extra one http://www.ktl.fi/portal/suomi/julkaisu ... kkorokote/

Our two had it. I guess it's two injections, each costing around 90 Euros. Our neuvola did the injections and arranged for a doctor to write a prescription for the vaccinations. I think the reason that we used is that there's psoriasys in the family and chicken pox can sometimes trigger it.

We didn't do this... since the neuvola said she could get it despite the vaccination, though milder.

I was also under the belief that there is a higher risk of developing shingles earlier in life with the injection since it is usually administered at around one year old.
