I add suger to my vodka/Gin about three Mummi mugs full per 50cl of vodka/Gin done the trick the last 3 years!!!
If your over run in plums try doing plum juice really easy as you dont need to de-stone them first, just throw them in the mehumaija!
Oh yeah im doing plum chutney tomorrow what reicepe do you follow?????

Yes, do post your recipes on here. A couple of years ago my neighbour gave me a ton of cherry plums (are these the redish-pink and yellow ones?) and they were so ripe we were able to eat them fresh, whole, nothing added. I did make some jam too but it was not nice (rather bitter even though the fresh plums were sweet and lovely, very odd). I should've made chutney, but it didn't occur to me at the time. Wonder if he'll pop over with any this year?
