Where to find services for emptying Septic Tank?

Hi,

Just moved to Finland a few months ago. And we were told that we need to empty the septic tank in the garden before the winter. But where to looking for the companies who provides this kind services? Can anyone give us some suggestions?

The magic word is "lokapalvelu"... if your bins get emptied by say L&T they do it also - so might call up the trash guys.

Otherwise... just a quick google

Finnish terms for septic tank: likakaivo, lokakaivo, sakokaivo, saostuskaivo (paskakaivo if you want to be a bit rude and earthy about it.)

You might want to give one of these companies a call.

I have L&T do mine, they even have a web page that you fill in to arrange it, no need to even phone them. you might have to be an existing customer though (they empty my rubbish bins so I already had a customer number).

This was our "poo guy" back when we had an underground tank. I'm no expert in excrement disposal but it seemed like he did a fine job to me

Junior still waves at his truck when we spot it on the road...

We call a place called Viemärihuolto ( drain care) and we ask him to clean out the viemäri and he seems to understand the !"#¤% is full!

My husband called the guy on Tuesday, the tank was emptied the next day when we got back home. We don't even need to be waited at home. Brilliant.
