Hello,
I am renting a apartment from a housing agency (the agency probably is kind of local goverment funded).
Someone helped me to traslate court paper from Finnish for me.
Housing ageny suited me for living in apartment without a rental contract. they said they have sent me a letter by post asking me to renew the contract, and i did not come. they ask me to move out and pay some fine (not much) and about 245e cost from court. and i have 14 days to respond the charge(suit) to court.
few facts:
1 the rental contract expired by Octorber 2009, I am still living here now.
2. i have sent an email to agency asking for stay for 1 or 2 months more, and i did not get reply.
3. i paid my rent in time for December.
my questions:
1. they said they have sent me a letter by post, but I did not receive the letter. should they send me a registered letter, or just a normal letter is OK? can i argue that I did not recieve the letter, and i did not get reply for my email? yes, i living here without contract, but i paid rent in time, is it a strong argument?
2. does anyone know the procedures normally agency has to fulfill before they can take legal action? or does procedure matter?
3. Should I paid the money then forget about it, i do not speak Finnish so it is quite difficult to fight. or do i have chance to win?
Thanks for any reply! Nice weekend!
