Where can you buy regular sized pillows?
Just wondering if it's possible to buy regular (AUS/US/CAN/UK) sized pillows anywhere in Finland or can you only get the smaller euro sized ones?

Ikea?
Political correctness is the belief that it's possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
Re: Where can you buy regular sized pillows?
Hah, funny you are asking, I have been looking for pillows bigger than the regular 50x60, I wanted something like 80x80. German IKEA does sell them but the Finnish one doesn't, how strange is that? I saw bigger pillows in Anttila once, but they seemed uncomfortable, so I gave up.
I will be happy to receive answers to this question, too.

Um... perhaps because 80x80 as a bed pillow makes my Finnish eyes goaniorek wrote:I wanted something like 80x80. German IKEA does sell them but the Finnish one doesn't, how strange is that?

To OP: What is "regular" size to you? A bit hard to answer without that information.

Re: Where can you buy regular sized pillows?
And Jysk has a big selection of pillows too. And probably Stockmann in the city centre.

And don't forget the internet.... IIRC, M&S only charges £5 to deliver to Finland

(Having lived "abroad" for over 30 years, my suggestion would be to go with the flow.... don't fight it. BTW - it is also pretty difficult to find King Size duvet covers too (Finns use singles) - so either get EVERYTHING from Ikea or order over the www)

OK, so do you then have a "regular size arse" if you buy 2-seater sofa for a lounge chair?

Before you know it, people will be asking if you had to throw your old pillows overboard to lighten the rowboat.
Hmm, come to think of it . . . Did you?

Wow, Finnish K-mart has them for only 3 times what American K-mart sells them for. Well, 5 times if you don't flash your worker's party membership card at time of purchase. At these prices, FF:ers should start advising immigrants to bring a big supply of toilet paper, too.

+ add to tha fact those pillows are a piece of piss... after a while they form into lumpy bags you sleep with your head in a hole with a few layers of cloth. I found some funky "couch pillows" that were actually made like old-fashioned straw mattrasses... would need to find a few more as I got those for the cottage...

Re: Where can you buy regular sized pillows?
it seems that the idea of a "regular" pillow differs by country, and Ikea adjusts all it's pillow sizes to the local market even though they use the same product names
from ikea pages:
UK: 50x80
FI: 50x60
FR: 65x65
So there is no such thing as a "euro" pillow. Since they weigh almost nothing then you could make a trip to the uk and buy some, there are plenty of ikea branches there. Or check the ikea online catalog for other countries you are visiting, but avoid dubai since they have UK sized ones as well. Hong Kong seems to have the UK sizes (to no surprise really).

So Europe has no ISO standard for pillows. Somehow that both surprises and disappoints me.
