Hi we're an American-Finnish family that just recently (18 months ago) relocated from the Us to Finland. We have 4 kids who did not speak any Finnish when we moved here. They still miss home a great deal, especially the older two that were old enough to have friends and memories there. I'd like to get to know other Finnish-American families, especially ones with young children around the same age as ours.
Our children range from 3 to 7 years old, the 3 oldest are boys and the youngest is a girl. We live in Vantaa.

Have you tried contacting the American Women's Club. I know they have many activities for families with young children.
If you cannot find a phone number for them, message me.

I was at a dinner this week, held by the American Womens Club. It was made up of Moms who get together to chat and make big group play dates for their children. Great people, I really enjoyed their company and got lots of good information. I have a 10 year old daughter but most of them have younger children.

Just out of curiosity, is there an American Mens club? Are there any American stay at home Dads out there? Or am I the only one?

Re: American-Finnish Families?
As far as I know, there isn't an American Men's Club. However, a woman of any nationality who is married to an American man is automatically eligible for membership in the AWC. @catfish, if you want to take your kids to the playgroups, I'm sure the organizers wouldn't mind. Someone had asked about it before and we all agreed that the important thing was having the interaction for the kids.
If you want more info about the AWC, there is some info and a contact link here: http://www.awcfinland.com/
I have an 8yo son and we like to meet families with kids his age.
