Good Quality Energy Saving Bulbs

Post by gurmukh » Fri Jan 08, 2010 2:38 pm

Hi Guys

I'm looking to purchase some good quality light bulbs and after having a look at Clas Ohlson and Kodin Ykkonen they do not sell the bulbs I want. Are there any online stores or some speciality bulb stores in the Helsinki area?

Thanks! :)

EDIT: I'm looking for 20-30W E27 bulbs that have a colour of 3500k minimum.

Have you tried Bauhaus? Or one of the other DIY stores like K-Rauta etc

http://www.bauhaus.fi (not in the city centre though)

Also Ikea sells them but I'm not sure they are much good.

And of course Stockmann, but they would probably (but not necessarily) be more expensive.

Hey, My husband has done a lot of research on this and has concluded that Airam longlife 2700K are best. These won a review in this Finnish consumer report:

http://www.kuluttaja.fi/tuote/valinta.a ... &referer=/

They are not too expensive, in fact among the cheapest brandname lightbulbs, (20W is less than 7€) and they get bright fast when you turn on the light. They are on the yellow side of the scale, as opposed to blue.

We have bought them at Prisma and Tarjoustalo.
Don't worry, it only feels kinky the first time....

hey guys

For anyone that's interested, I have found the best (and highest) wattage you can buy in Shops is in Kasaniemi at a place called Kodin No.1. They sell the Megaman 3000k (not as yellow) 23W (v bright) bulbs for 8.99 each.

The others seemed far too yellow or dim.

Thanks again! :)

Unfortunately, looks like that Kodin Ykkönen is going to disappear soon from Kaisaniemi.
Today I noticed on the last page of Metro paper their ad, big final sale 'as the rent contract expired'.
Kodin Ykkönen will continue in the shops in Vantaa and Espoo.
