Re: translation question
bear ( correction : bare ) your soul to me ! = avaa sydämesi minulle ! ( open your heart to me ! )
to bear ( correction :bare ) one´s soul = avata sydämensä
a literal translation of "to bear ( correction:bare ) one´s soul" would be "paljastaa sielunsa" but we do not say that.

Re: translation question
Ah, thank you for that, but that wasn't what I ment. ^^;;
I literally ment "Bare your soul".
As in expose your soul, show your soul, reveal you soul, something like that.
"bare" wasn't a typo, I didn't mean bear. ^^

Re: translation question
Well, you don´t expose your soul in Finnish, it would sound odd. You expose your heart.As in expose your soul
Re: translation question
Hm, okay. Thank you very much for your help! =)
Re: translation question
"Bear" was typo in MY post. I meant "bare". "To bare one´s soul" is "avata sydämensä" in Finnish.Naerrchen wrote:Ah, thank you for that, but that wasn't what I ment. ^^;;

"Bare your soul to me !" is "Avaa sydämesi minulle!"
Re: translation question
You could also use the expression avata sisimpänsä, “to open up one’s innards”, referring to the most private, innermost feelings and thoughts; the very core of one’s personality/being (or “soul”, if you want to call it that.)kalmisto wrote:"To bare one´s soul" is "avata sydämensä" in Finnish.
"Bare your soul to me !" is "Avaa sydämesi minulle!"

Avasin sisinpäni ja sieluni putosi ulos.
