Maybe you should start working on the accent neutralization off the limeys and ozzies moving here, the Finns have no accent, they need to learn one lest people think they're talking with a robot

Accent neutralization??? Who invented that??? How can someone, anyone, NOT have an accent

What's the technique? You cut out their tongues, or do you go straight for the vocal chords?
Joking apart, I think you should move to China. More work there, IMO.

Not sure who invented , but its very useful for a non native English speaker , if they do interact with native English speaking counterparts on daily basis for business. its very expensive to get such training in FI , and options are a few ..penelope wrote: Accent neutralization??? This accent neutralization for doing business – I don´t know, sounds trivial... I just think it is more important WHAT you have to say than what kind of accent you have.

Is that synthesized or digitally averaged from multiple speakers or is Clifford Tee an asian ESL speaker or what's the deal?
As he persisted, I was obliged to tootle him gently at first and then, seeing no improvement, to trumpet him vigorously with my horn.

In business you just need to use either
buzzword bingo or the buzzword generator http://www.robietherobot.com/buzzword.htm
It does not matter what your accent is if you can suddenly pop up with 'I propose we should engage plug-and-play synergies' in a meeting!

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine.

You still lost me.... native English speakers don't have accents then?
I tried teaching Estuary English to group of my students last year. We listened to a Jamie Olivier podcast from the BBC and I had them practising glottal stops. Then we listened to Sir Alex Ferguson... It was the best fun ever. Hopefully I convinced them all that there was nothing wrong with their "Finnish" accents and to stop the self-deprecation.
I read somewhere recently that it is impossible to get a TV presenter job at the BEEB these days if you DON'T have a regional accent!!!
