Hi all,
we came here for a short visit for studying and now we are pregnant. Although i am EU citizen, we (i think) are not eligible yet for KELA (only 2 months here).
Duo to we both carrying the same genetic mutation we need to do CVS (chorionic villus sampling) in a private clinic. Do any of you have experience in that? Any recommendation on a specific clinic and off course a good and experience doctor to perform CVS?

In helsinki, you can try Femeda and Felicitas, might be expensive, but they are very nice doctors and speak english too.

It's probably worth going to talk to kela too - as being EU citizens maybe they can help - reciprocal agreements with your home country etc

We submitted this week application to KELA, but we know that the chances are low. In addition, it will take them between 4-6 week just to process the application. Their answer, as good as it can be will probably be too late for us as this analysis usually takes place at the 11 week of the pregnancy.
We already contacted Femeda. We heard about other private clinics. do anybody heard about them- Graviditas, Adenova, Väestöliiton and Eira Hospital. However, we are more concern about the Dr. performing this examination, having enough experience. Is CVS (chorionic villus sampling) a common practice in Finland?

I suppose you're still insured in your home country.
If you got a "European health card" (sorry don't know the correct term), most of the treatments will be covered by Kela.

i did no applied for European Health Insurance Card before coming to Finland (can i do it while leaving in Finland?). but as i understand the European Health Insurance Card mainly covers emergency treatment in the event of an illness or injury. i am not sure our case stands under these circumstances.
