A sober grouse?

...you might hear someone say selvä pyy - there's a short explanation here how the saying might have originated (no-one knows really)

...it means roughly the same as "ok" or "righty-ho".

The same bird also features in the Finnish version of a bird in hand...

Parempi pyy pivossa kuin kymmenen oksalla.

I've also heard a humorous modification of that saying - parempi pyy pivossa, huonompi pyy kaatopaikalla :wink:
