A few words on my teaching method: I believe in imitation and repetition. I will teach you pronunciation and the alphabet first. Then we'll move on to vocabulary and grammar. As soon as we have the absolute necessities we will instantly start creating basic sentences and speaking, speaking and then again speaking. The idea is to learn by doing, that is, using the language as much as possible. My motto is that it is more important to get to a level where you can understand and make yourself understood rather than have each and every word grammatically perfectly correct. I want to make the learning fun but I am also strict and expect you to practice between the lessons. If you are motivated you will make great progress. Of that I am sure.

A few words from a student of mine:

"I have been in Finland for 6 months and recently realized that I needed to learn the basics of the language to feel more involved in the society. I met Jenni through a friend and we quickly got on to the topic of the 'scary' Finnish language. Jenni agreed to teach me and we met the next day.

Jenni has a very enthusiastic and patient approach to teaching Finnish that suited my learning style. We started with the alphabet and the pronunciations of Finnish letters. Jenni kept me interested and made the lesson fun. The following lessons have been adding to the basic knowledge that is needed to understand Finnish and building my vocabulary.

I would recommend Jenni to anyone who is looking to learn Finnish as a beginner. I imagine that if you have a basic understanding of Finnish Jenni would be a great person to help you improve your abilities and take you up to the next level.
