Better start thinking of a plan B

Your chances for a job in Finland are very slim.
You need a job first before you can apply for a residence permit. And finding a job in your situation is near impossible.
- you're not EU
- you don't speak Finnish
- you don't have Finnish degrees
- teachers are not a rare commodity in Finland.
- one year only (with fixed dates?)
Unless you have special skills in a niche market, prepare for plan B.

At the moment the Finns think one Canadian is already enough, Mr. Elop is gonna clean up.But what is the need to come so urgently to Finland, hormones or something?

There are many examples on this forum.

The least she could do is move with you to Helsinki or other big city area, for you to get a job.

Have you been living in Kuopio? I do not know if these bright US-journalists have been living there when they declared Finland worlds best country. So take a holiday for one or two months and see it from there. I recommend to come halve of October till halve of December to get a good picture.
