Private lessons in Finnish (Turku area)

Post by Bill Jensen » Tue Mar 01, 2011 11:00 am

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the site (became a member 5 minutes ago) and I hope I am posting this in the correct forum.

I am planning on coming to Turku for 2 weeks at the end of April to improve my language skills in both Finnish and Swedish. I work at Copenhagen Airport and will soon be checking passengers in for flights to Helsinki. I have a university degree in Finnish but my conversational skills are highly limited. I would love a session or two with a native Finn during my stay to help strengthen my communications skills to assist my fluency.

I'm an extremely easy pupil. I'm quite versed in Finnish grammar so there is no need for any dazzling grammatical explanations. I just need to start talking. :D

Hope to hear from someone.

Thanks.

Regards,
Bill

Thanks for the tip, Kalmisto. I'll copy-paste it to the Facebook group as well.

Take care and hyvää päivän jatkoa! :D

Kiitos samoin !

I suggest that you join the couchsurfing community ( http://www.couchsurfing.org/ ). It is free of charge, it is very easy to join and there are no obligations of ANY kind for members. That means - among other things - that you do not have to host anybody in your home if you do not want to. See this ! : http://www.couchsurfing.org/about.html/faq

Couchsurfers in Turku have their monthly meetup every first Thursday of the month, next time on March the 3rd :

Registered members can plan events and invite others to join :

The language at the events is English but you could of course during your stay in Turku arrange a language meetup or two for those interested in practicing their Finnish or Swedish.
