Do you have some experiences in hiring a lived-in nanny?
Hi, Any parents here who has some experiences in hiring a foreign lived-in nanny in Finland? Please share your experiences like how much did you pay monthly? What did you have to do to get an approved decision from the immigration and labor office? And everything you would like to share concerning this topic.. I would appreciate the information. As for the payment, I strongly suggest that you do not limit yourself to the amount listed as "minimum" on the site. Four years ago it was the same and still way too little to feel that you, as an au-pair, are worth something to the family.

true. I worked as an au pair in belgium and i got 600 euro per month and that was ok salary but when i applied to be au pair here in finland was an insult to know they wanted to pay me 300 euro? for the full month wow crazy

Well I'm an Au pair at the moment (in the NL) and I guess these people have had a good time with me (the mom said that she never wants me to leave), but I've heard some horror stories of girls who just drank all the time and neglected the children and had no cooking skills what so ever. So you should be careful who you choose, I'd say that maybe meet the person face-to-face if possible.
And please tell the girl everything that she might need to know. I surely didn't know that I'd be stuck in the house 12+ hours per day with a baby and a dog and 4 other kids (when they come home from school) fighting constantly.
