We are...
...a family of four, one of the parents working and the other one staying at home with the kids (two boys: a bit more than one year and a bit less than three years). The kids go to music school once a week and the older one will start a hobby club next fall, otherwise we spend a lot of time during week at home. Parents have some hobbies and the whole family goes to swim weekly as well as spends time with family and friends. We are living 16km from the center of Jyväskylä, in a middle of nowhere by a lake. We have a garden and we grow some vegetables for our own use during summer, as well as go fishing occasionally.
We are looking for...
...someone who would well integrate to our life and enjoy spending time with us - this means that a suitable candidate is open and honest as well as willing and capable to discuss anything that either bothers or delights. We're looking for true cultural exchange - it would also be a great advantage if you can cook food from your own culture (this is not a must though). A suitable candidate must speak at least some very basic Finnish in order to be able to communicate with the children. Since we are not living in a city, we believe that a person interested in nature and peace will most probably enjoy life here more than someone interested in busy night life
Swimming skill is a must due to safety since we live by a lake.For a suitable candidate we appreciate a positive attitude towards life, curiosity and open-mindness. There is a room available, but you'll need to be able to adjust to occasional noise, sometimes also during night time due to small children.
You are in our house to help us and live with us and we appreciate it. You are not required to drive a car, but a driver's license is a plus. We're looking for a good match with our lifestyle so depending on your skills you may help us with either household duties, gardening, cooking, helping with building a garage and/or playing with children... No matter what are your strengths and what we'll end up agreeing, you'll need to be extremely independent and active person.
We are looking for Au Pair for the summer, starting immediately and potentially to continue when the fall arrives with the same arrangement or as even more part-time duties e.g. if the suitable person is a student at Jyväskylä.
