Looking for English tutor for my two young kids

Post by whomadewho » Mon Aug 29, 2011 11:43 pm

I'm a (divorced) American living in Finland who has a six year old girl and a four year old boy. As part of our divorce agreement - my ex has to provide them with an English tutor each week. This is my first step in making that happen. The idea is to give them a bit of what they would ordinarily learn in pre-school. I guess the main idea is 1) they learn and 2) they have fun doing it. It would be a bit of a challenge as they are obviously at two different stages of development. They both speak fairly well already, so the main goals would be to get them to speak more and do guide/start them on the path to eventually reading. We are thinking a ninety minute session each week. Ideally, you could come to the Kallio/Vallila area (in Helsinki). You will, of course, be paid for it (we can discuss money matters later).

Here are the things that are most important: That English is your mother tongue (no second language speakers please), that you NEVER speak Finnish to them (it's actually an asset if you can't speak Finnish), that you are reliable (showing up every week) and that you have the ability to get them to learn and to have fun at the same time.

I have set up an email for this purpose: timo.julma@gmail.com If you're interested and you meet all the above qualifications, please send me an email. Thanks.
