Hi people,
I have been unemployed for nearly 3 months now but have been volunteering for a local community organization that have offered to pay expenses if i continue to help them. Does anyone have experience with this in regards to effecting your unemployment benefit or the 'help' to re-enter the work force?
Is there a ceiling on expenses?
The text in finnish on the agreement is as follows:
Maksetaan kulukorvausta tehtävästä enintään 6,000 sopimuskausi
Thanks in advance for your consideration of my question.
Regards,
Willow
kulukorvausta - Expenses?
Re: kulukorvausta - Expenses?
If they are expenses and you are available to a paying job or courses that työkkäri "suggests", then I see no problem. If you start to skip interviews and "can't" go to a course...
And the previous is just my common sense talking, Kela or työkkäri might have different opinion... you could try to ask directly from them?

Yes, definitely available and still looking for full time job. I just don't want to put myself at a disadvantage but would be a good idea on resume to show that i am still contributing to society (not just sitting around!)
Expenses would mainly be fuel, mileage as i would need to drive my own car to meetings, events etc. Possibly to cover accommodation and food if outside the local region.

Is there a limit to the amount of expenses one can claim in this manner?
And how is this reported? Does it need to be reported?

With paper trail and 6k ceiling (per year?), it is probably a ok. You (as in you and the organization) should maybe try to apply some grants that would make it possible to hire you, if you do a lot of volunteering.willow3lions wrote:Expenses would mainly be fuel, mileage as i would need to drive my own car to meetings, events etc. Possibly to cover accommodation and food if outside the local region.
