Dear parents,

I am studying Finnish language at the University of Turku and I am preparing my master’s thesis about children’s first names in bi- and multilingual families living in Finland. The focus is on families where one of the parents is Finnish-speaking and one has some other native language than Finnish.

I would really appreciate if you could help me in my study and tell me about your children’s names and how you chose the names for your children by completing a short questionnaire. If you would like to participate in my study please send me email to nimikysely@gmail.com and I will send you the link to the questionnaire.

In my thesis I am interested only in the first names and how they are chosen; surnames are not part of my study and will therefore not be visible or published anywhere. All answers and information given are of course handled according to the principals of research ethics.
