English Speaking Obstetrician/Mid-Wife

Post by sophiaporridge » Thu Mar 08, 2012 5:49 pm

Hello,

I have been living in Finland for over three years and have recently become pregnant.

Currently - I am seeing a nurse/doctor in the Espoo Public Healthcare system (Tapiola Neuvola).

Does anyone have a recommendation of a VERY GOOD MID-WIFE/NURSE/DOCTOR in the Espoo Public Healthcare system (preferably Tapiola Neuvola) who speaks VERY GOOD ENGLISH?

Any recommendation for a well qualified English speaking Obstetrician/Nurse would be highly appreciated.

Thank you so much!

Id just ask your neuvola nurse which of the other staff speaks god English and ask to change to her.

If you are having your baby at Jorvi, Ive had both of mine there and never had a language problem. :D

Hi Sara,

Yes! I am having my baby at Jorvi and it is GREAT to hear that you did not have any problems.

Guess I am becoming that worry wart mother. Oh boy - I promised myself that this wouldn't happen...lol.

Thanks again!

I've had the same experience as Sara, we're in the Matinkylla nuevola and have had no problems with English being spoken by the majority of the nurses we saw during both the pregnancy and beyond. The nurses and doctors at Jorvi were also very good with speaking English.
