Quitting a full-time job? (out of trial period)

Hey there,

I am about to start working here in Finland and my contract states that there will be a probation/trial period of 4 months. There, it states that the employment may be terminated by either the employer or me. The question is... once that period ends, can I quit my job? (I know it sounds stupid to ask, but I've read some posts and I'm quite not sure about this).

Sure you can quit. During the trial period the term of notice is 0. After that the time is from 14 days to one month if you quit and 14 days to 6 months if you get fired.

You don't say if you have fixed-term (määräaikainen) contract or one made with out specified end time, or until further notice (toistaiseksi voimassa oleva, often called permanent/pysyvö, although of course nothing is truly permanent).

Upphew gave a valid answer for the second one, but a fixed-term contract is binding for both (after possible trial period has ended).
