Dear Finland forum community,
Does anyone have any experience or advice on registering as a self-employed individual in Helsinki? I am moving as a citizen from another EU country where I was self-employed and have a letter from the tax authority to that effect. I wondered where one registered and what documentation was needed in Finland?
Does anyone also know whether I am eligible for KELA if I am going to be resident in Helsinki for at least 12 months as a self-employed individual?
All advice welcome.

You need to convince the police that you are self employed in Finland with enough regular income.
What you did abroad might help, but it is not an automatic acceptance.
When you are registered, you're eligible for Kela but as a self employed person you have to pay the premium yourself.

Thanks! Do you happen to know how much the premium is or how is it calculated?
