Citizenship Application decision

Hi,
I just wanted to create this thread to keep a track about the latest decisions about Finnish citizenship application.

I have red that someone applied in March2012 and got the result of his application in September.
Any news about those have applied in April / May 2012 ?

I have applied on the 5th of May and got a reply today from Migri.

Hi Hackoff,

Congrats

Short Period!! But could you please let us know if they have been asking you or sending you
any letter before you get the positive decision? As I heard that normally they send a letter first to ask if you have traveled or changed your job ect...

Actually I have not got any request from their side. no phone call / no email. Maybe because i have sent a big pile of papers. good luck everyone

It was really like that. All papers dating back form 2007. Sorted chronologically with separate sections (Vero, payslip,...) The lady spent the next 30 min with the copy machine

Hackoff, I think they didn't ask you because it toke exactly 6 months which is less than a year to decide on your application and they normal ask if your application stayed there for a year or more then they send asking any news, updates, changes in job ect...

Mine took more than a year and there weren't any requests after submitting the application.

I applied beginning of July 2012 (IIRC) an received my decision today. Much faster than I expected, acc. to MIGRI-homepage I wouldn't have expected it before January 2013...
The lady at the police station told me already in July that my application looks good.
No questions/phone calls from the MIGRI.

I included an extensive list of my visits abroad, where I mentioned even very short trips to Russia or Germany. Have been living in Finland since August 2005 and got a "ammatikouluperustutkinto" in 2011, so my Finnish-speaking-skills are well documented.
I'm currently unemployed and obviously it didn't matter (I know that the law says it doesn't matter, but still...)

Hi,

I have applied in mid of may 2012 and got my decision last week on friday. I am also living in finland since october 2005 and have completed ammattikorkoulu degree in IT in 2011. Currently little part time metro work and baby care benefits. I am also unemployed right now.

Is it ok to apply for citizenship (ofcourse language exam is needed) even you don't have a proper job ?

Yes. You can apply for citizenship even if you dont have a job and you are completely unemployed
