wife with italian resident permit

Post by GWolf2012 » Tue Oct 23, 2012 2:35 pm

Hi,
I'm Italian and my wife is chinese, she has an Italian resident permit (valid until 2016, she can travel inside schengen area)
We will probably move to Finland (I received a job offer) and I read that she must apply for a finnish resident permit as well.

someone else was in the same situation? (EU person married with extra-UE person moving to Finland)
suggestions? advices?

thanks in advance

I recall that some in this board on similar situation have applied and got the 'residence permit', the way law is written the thing you really 'supposed' to have is the 'residence card' (for a non-EU family member of a EU citizen). Italian permit/card means she won't need a visa, but does not give other rights here.

thanks Rip for the link, very helpful.
My wife has a resident card for family reasons (because is my wife) that is different from other cards issued in Italy for students or workers.

I will ask a copy of the marriage papers in case needs to be translated in finnish for the application.

If someone else have other informations please share
