PR / Photography / Journalism

Post by DMC » Tue Nov 13, 2012 8:10 am

Anybody here work in PR? Photography? Journalism? Maybe with some sales skills? If so, please contact me by PM. This is not for a full-time permanent position, more like freelance work related to a number of events next year.

Job hunting is a tough business. I appreciate that. So thank you for your response, but on this occasion you have been unsuccessful. If I can give you a tip for the future, I suggest you read job advertisements carefully and do what is requested. There are likely to be subtle tricks in job advertisements, such as "please contact me by PM", to filter out those people incapable of following simple instructions. Spotting these tricks can be difficult. Hint: try reading. In extreme cases try thinking. If you can spot what the employer wants, and do it, your chances of success improve significantly.
Here is another tip. My post was deliberately short and vague. You wrote: "I m experienced enough for this job". You cannot possibly know that based on what I wrote, which means I question your judgement. Plus your failure to proof read your post, or to write more than a single sentence, does not suggest that you have the journalism skills I am looking for.

In a single sentence application is not a great motivator either.

Fist of all, d you need a photographer or what??? If you are trying to find someone with other skills is another matter! I think you have some problem and it is funny you judge my skills before seeing my CV and even my works!

And also I have a suggestion for you to buy a cheap camera and try this ... job yourself if you are so sensitive about what I wrote!

Yes, I am also looking for other skills. The clues were in my original post. I'll repeat my hints from before: try reading; try proof-reading.
No, I didn't judge you on your CV (that you didn't provide) or your work samples (that you didn't provide). Instead I judged you on the single sentence you did provide. Is that really a surprise?

That you think an unskilled amateur with a cheap camera could do the job tells me a lot.

I could have just ignored your post, which is the response most job applicants get. Instead I have informed you that you didn't get the job, told you why, and suggested how you could do better in future. Perhaps you should think about that before making a fool of yourself even further.

I don't see any point in argument with you because it was clear it is not a real job offer, especially as it is a vague one!! and moreover if you look for some one who is good in typing so it is interesting as well ! I don't need to proof-read what I wrote !

I don't see any reason for argument either
1. read instructions
2. do as they tell
If you can not follow simple instructions - you are too stupid for the job.

Your arrogance is an other reason why you're not suitable for the job.

Thats not an excuse for stupidity, and hardly explains it - are you a vegetarian as well?
