Notice period

Post by Alex.Sm » Sun Jan 06, 2013 9:34 pm

Terve

I would like to know how long is the the notice period I have to give to my employer if I am working there for the past 1.5 years permanently and before that 1 year part-time? In the agreement we signed there is nothing mentioned about this and I don't want to go and ask from HR or from my superior. Dooohhh!

According to this: http://www.yrityssuomi.fi/web/enterpris ... -of-notice it should be 2 weeks : "14 days if the employment has continued for five years or less".

Kiitos!

That is the law. The law also says
Unless otherwise agreed

- but you stated that this is not the case (I think it rarely is) with your work contract. In principle it would be possible that it had been agreed in your TES, but at least I haven't heard about one that would have made that time longer.

and
An employment contract made or valid until further notice...
but it did not sound like you had a fixed term contract either.
