Looking for a nanny job in Uusima region

Post by Hien Phuong Vu » Sun Apr 21, 2013 4:42 am

Dear family,

I come from Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. I am going to finish my first year study in May and I am looking for a part-time nanny job in Uusima region during the summer. I will be ready to start my work in the middle of June.

Although I have never actually worked as a nanny/au-pair, I had some experience in taking care of little kids before. I had been looking after a niece and a nephew when they were 4 years old back in Vietnam. I used to feed them, soothe them when they were crying, show them different games like Mandarin Square Capturing and Bamboo Jacks, teach them English songs and put them to sleep.

During high school, I worked in an environmental coalition club called Green Hanoi-Amsterdam (GHA). We had a summer camp for children called Camp Blast in which I worked as one of the organizers and children group’s managers. I was responsible for designing the children’s games and taking care of a group of 10 children at the age of 6-12 years old. I taught them some songs and dances, instructed them how to make toys from used objects such as CDs, plastic bottles and newspapers and made sure of their safety and hygiene during the activities like treasure hunt, swimming and museum visit.

When I was 17 years old, I had a volunteer job as an English tutor for a girl in difficulty. I helped her revise and consolidate some basic grammar, explained the definitions and pronunciation of words and offered her some test samples. I am proud to say that I managed to considerably improve her English knowledge and assist her to pass the high school Leaving Examination.

Having taken care of children of various ages and worked as a tutor, I have learnt and sharpened my responsibility, patience, attentiveness and creativity, which I believe are the characteristics taken to be a good nanny. I am also aware that being a nanny is not simple, but rewarding at the same time, since making children happy keeps me joyful and energized myself. Moreover, working as a nanny is a good opportunity for me to explore other cultures and practice my language skills.

In addition to looking after your kid(s), I don’t mind helping you with some light housework, cooking and taking care of pets. I am in good health condition; I don’t smoke or drink or have any allergy. About my language skills, I can speak fluent English and basic Chinese. I have already studied Finnish for Foreigners level 1&2 and I plan to continue studying Finnish in summer school. About my hobbies, I love music and pets a lot; I can entertain your kid(s) by playing the guitar or the bamboo pipe and show them how to take care of animals. I am kind, gentle, honest and responsible and would like to become a friend to your family :).

My CV is available in http://www.2shared.com/file/G-TXxWCf/Hi ... us_CV.html. You can also contact me at 0417533027 or hien.vu@aalto.fi.

Thank you very much for your consideration! I am looking forward to meeting your family and expressing more about myself.

Best regards,
Hien Vu.
