I have some goods that I wish to give away, small tv, dvd, bed linen etc, any places in Helsinki that might take for refugee's! :)

VOKs ('vastaanottokeskus') I don't think need to resort to those. Recycling center (kierrätyskeskus) will take them if they are functioning.
