I dunno, one job I know you can get is delivering adverts to people's houses. I know, because when I first moved here that was the first thing I did.

It's an awful, boring, time consuming, tedious job, but I knew it was all I could have got speaking no Finnish (well, "moi" )

You could look into the Kokkola equivalent of Jyväskylän Jakelut, which is who I did it for. They surely have it in Kokkola too

No, but what not many part time jobs with little/no language skills do

You get paid on how many adverts you deliver

No one in particular, I just went to their website, called the main number, asked if they spoke English, then if they had any jobs available.. she said 'yes', I said 'great' and that was that pretty much haha

You looking to do it?

Good luck with delivering the junkmail. It's a horrible job, especially in winter. And depending where you deliver, will depend if you need a car or not.

You won't get a job working for the Post itself, as a Postman. Or probably even in their Postoffice, or sorting the mail there. You must be able to speak fluent Finnish. It states it in all job advertisements to do with delivering mail.

Please don't live in la la land, like you'll turn up here and just easily get a job. Do you know what the economy is like here right now? There are so many Fins out of work and more are losing their jobs daily. And you turn up, without any skills in Finnish whatsoever, thinking you can just easily get a job.

Delivering junk mail is an awful job. The pay is crap too. Doing it in horrific weather is probably the worse thing of all.

haha, I did it over one autumn/winter and I was fine. That said, I had a car and my girlfriend actually helped me sort and deliver them, so it was two of us doing one person's job.

I think it would be a nightmare in the summer, but that's just personal preference. I get hot and sweaty now just walking to the shop and hate it, never mind carrying a heavy bag of ads up and down stairs for a whole afternoon.

..and like I said, I had my girlfriend doing the job with me too (even then it still took us around 3 hours to deliver). I'd hate having to do it all by myself
