Buying IKEA online, picking up at the store?

Hi,

I will make a reasonably big purchase at IKEA this weekend and since I am going to rent a van and everything I wouldn't want to go there and find out that some of the desired items are not available. Is there a way to buy them beforehand and have them set aside so that the day I arrive I just load them up in my van?

The closest thing to this seems to be checking item per item availability on their website and going to the store first thing Saturday and be ready to run through the whole store till the end to buy all those items that you want.

They have picking service advertised, but that means getting the delivery too. I opted to shop online and while the delivery was not cheap 1xx€ they did haul the loot to the apartment, 6th floor, you should have seen the relief on their faces when they realized that all the stuff would fit in lift.

You can also rent a van from IKEA, so in that way you wouldn't need to rent unless you find the stuff you want.
