Recycling centres Helsinki / washing machine

Post by S&M » Sun Jun 16, 2013 10:20 am

Hi,
we need to get rid of our washing machine and from the recycling centre webpage it seems that they only pick up or take in washing machines which are functioning well and less than 5 years old (which is not the case with ours).
Can anyone advise as to where we are to take it or rather if there is some pick up service (at charge)?

The thing is, if you are buying a new one, usually there is a service with no or a little fee to take the old one away.

The waste stations (Sortti) will take a broken washing machine for free. Have a look at http://www.hsy.fi/en/wastemanagement/se ... fault.aspx

They will take any kind of trash/waste for free as long as it´s from a normal household.
