Hi!
I've come to the conclusion that I need to go back to a Finnish course to brush up. I seem to have fallen into a rut of everybody just speaking to me in English and it is impeding my progress. I used to go to a weekly Finnish discussion group, but that seems to have died, and attempts to gather other foreigners in Turku to practice spoken Finnish have fallen flat. So, I started to check out the Turun Työväenopisto for courses starting in January (New Years resolution.....etc.), only to find that all the courses started in September and run until April!!

@rse!
Are there other alternatives I can check? Of course I can wait until April to start but it would be nice to start in January, now that I'm all fired up.
Apua vaan!
kevin.

Have you checked 'iltalukio' , if they have 'second language Finnish'?
Cheers, Hank W.

You could also second check the työväenopisto for their courses. It is the same course that runs throughout the year but you could join in the middle - you did mention you already know Finnish to a certain level? Call the opisto or the course teacher, you might as well join in when the New Year kicks in? Good luck!
Also I couldn't resist seeing myself: There are ten Finnish courses for foreigners in Turun Iltalukio

Howayas,
well, thanks for all the advice, apologies for not saying this sooner. Followed up the työväenopisto route and got into the course easily. Had the first lesson last night, relative pronouns, woohoo! Great fun!
Realised that I miss having a structured way to learn Finnish.
Kiitoksiä kaikesta avustanne kaikkille!
Kevin.
