Content of letter from employer to get registered?

Post by BlackCountry » Tue Jul 09, 2013 2:29 pm

Hi all,

I have recently gotten some freelance work here doing what I do, cash in hand at the minute but obviously that isn't ideal for anyone, the wisdom from my boss is to get a toiminimi so i popped to in-to in the city and got the forms and some advice from them (v.helpful) however to get the toiminimi i need a Kela number. Which means I mujst be registered as a resident etc etc.

My boss has said that he will write me a letter to take to the police station so i can get the ball rolling, I just need to lety him know exactly what that letter needs to say.

in-to said it needed to be a contract of employment or a statement about your self employment or something like that. Now I wont have a contrct from him as it is self employed ad-hoc work.

So does anyone know what they will be looking for in this letter?

Also, I am an EU citizen (english) but i have been here over three months already (almost 4), will I be best off leaving that detail out and just picking a date on which to say I entered finlad that is within the last three months?

(I would have registered before the three month limit had I found work before that limit was up)

Thanks

The social security number is not only used by Kela.

And whether or not you will be covered by Kela is a separate question.

As far as I remember, the way to start is that you enter your birthday instead of a social security number in the Y3 form.

You are not getting your social security number from the police, you are getting it from Maistraatti.

The police is not at all involved in getting a social security number, a tax card, or starting a toiminimi.
When you are finished with that, you go to the police for registering your Right of Residence.

when i say kela number i mean the social security number

right, i was told the process was

get letter
go to police station, register right of residence
go to maistratti, sort everything else out

right so if the letter states what I do for the company and say ballpark figure 1500e for 6months then that should be enough to get registered? (the money could be anything from 100-1000 per week in reality)

does it need to be on company paper etc? or would an e-mail printout do?

I take it the letter needs to have all company details and contact numbers etc?

Not that it would matter much but the official name for the thing (in English) is personal identity code.
