Hi!
Quick question about electricity delivery. I live in Vantaa and my current electricity provider is Vantaa energia. As I live in the house with electric heating, sometimes bills are too damn high. Found this website that compares electricity prices: http://www.sahkonhinta.fi/
Based on my input information it says that I could save ~500 euro annually by switching to different electricity provider (KSS Energia Oy, 2 cents/kwh cheaper).
As I know monthly bill consists of 1) electricity price 2) delivery price. Now if I switch to KSS Energia Oy, will I have higher delivery price? Is delivery price based on distance to energy source?
Also, maybe other things I'm not aware about?
Cheers!
Electricity delivery price
Re: Electricity delivery price
Check your electricity bill. There will be a+b=c, a being the energy sold to you, b the transfer of said electricity and c that you paid. As you can't change the grid the b will have same unit price regardless where you buy your your electricity.vitaliysh wrote:Hi!

Re: Electricity delivery price
Yes, (there is an electricity tax, but that I think usually get's grouped with the delivery price)vitaliysh wrote: As I know monthly bill consists of 1) electricity price 2) delivery price

The delivery price is made of some number of euros/month + some number of cents/kWh. Neither of them depend on the company you pay your electricity from (they are constant for a given location at a given time)Is delivery price based on distance to energy source?
The company itself seems OK enough. What are the details of the contract - I guess the price is not fixed when you make the contract, so do you understand what the estimate is based and how realistic it is? If it follows short term fluctuations, then electricity (spot price) is usually cheaper in July than mid winter. If you use electricity for heating (as seems to be the case), then you spend more during winter months (again things change if your charged separately for day and night time use and can use it intelligently). Also, maybe other things I'm not aware about?
