I live in Espoo and everything is a few bus connections away and most big stores were designed for people with cars. What's the best way to get around the region, especially in winter?

What's the best way to get around the region, especially in winter?

err by car? Things are spread out because it's a suburb and people have cars. The people have cars, things are built spread out and people visit them by car. It is not Hong Kong where everything is compact and reachable by MTR.
