I want to buy a used car.. there is many good 200-300 euro cars or even people who gift them.. but my doubt is how much costs to have a car.. insurance and something else? I have to go out of finland in short time and i just want to park the car and not to pay anything that time.. Is there anything else to pay besides the insurance?
Kiitos.

Re: Buying a car
Insurance, road tax, inspection once a year... then theres the tyre change twice a year.
So what you need to check is the taxes have been paid, good to have it just inspected, and you get a set of legal winter tyres... then you shouldn't face too much other payments except the insurance.
The only way not to pay is to take tha car "off road" but if you leave it outside they tow it as abandoned vehicle away.

I think this is quite a slow process though. i've seen cars stopped on the hard shoulders of motorways and they have been there for a month before going. Some even on slip roads blocking part of the lane and they are left there. This summer there was a crashed audi in a ditch in the local village, I think it was three weeks before that was pulled out.Pursuivant wrote: if you leave it outside they tow it as abandoned vehicle away.
The idea that cars on the hard shoulder are a danger and should be towed as quickly as possible (ie within the hour) has obviously not arrived in Finland.
