Advice for car loan

Post by Oberon » Fri Oct 18, 2013 8:58 pm

I'd like to buy a car in range of 3500-4000€
I tried to apply for a credit card from my bank but they told that since my continuous residence permit expires in ~1.5 years I can't apply for neither credit card nor car loan.

The situation is ridiculous: I have more than enough salary to cover such a small loan in one year or less, I just don't have that much saved money at hand. However, I can't get the loan from my bank until I extend my residence permit (which I will because my employment contract is longer than 1.5 years).

Anyone have been in such situation? The guy at the bank was useless in giving any other options. I've seen few companies offering some quick loans but not much information in English and not sure about it. (I have just seen a topic reply on this forum advising to stay away from such companies).

Quick loans (pikalaina) generally are super expensive. You can search online for for example osamaksu (partial payment). They are provided as consumer loans. All lenders are required to provide you todellinen vuosikorko (actual yearly interest) that includes all fees and interest. As you can apply online I would just apply where-ever you find the interest acceptable.
