Facilitating a car purchase.

Post by rupun » Wed Dec 04, 2013 11:30 pm

Hi all,

Okay, so I am interested in this car, and have my own as well. Both the seller and I would like to trade, i.e. I need to sell off my current car (it has a loan on it), and then use that money to buy the seller's car.

Is there a car shop that would facilitate that for us? I.e. this means that they buy my car off me, and his car off him, and let me purchase that car at a reasonable rate. What do they get in return? Higher turnover, and some money as well. Perhaps, not even money to cover their normal course of operations, but then again, they have a confirmed buyer for at least one car.

Any other ideas how I could facilitate this?

Thanks.

Kind regards.

! bump!

So, no ideas at all, really, no one?

I guess one option would be to walk into a dealership and ask! I just don't want to get scammed!

Kind regards.

you two can exchange cars, why do you need a car shop for that? I don't know the process but there's all the time people exchaning their cars. If you go to nettiauto.com, there you see people offering an exchange. So, it's possible and it's quite frequent, but I don't know the process and I don't esp. see why the hell you need a car shop for that unless the other party in question is the car shop but then again, why would you search for another car shop :)

edit: ok... so the real problem is getting your car with a loan sold so that you get money from that to buy another car. I think if you have found the interested buyer, then you two can arrange how to pay off the loan...for example, loan is transferred on his name? or he pays all the sum upfront? car dealer as a buyer would seem trouble-free but they might value your car too low!

in order not to be scammed, you ask around at different places (from dealers). if you are thinking to exchange your car, you can visit http://www.nettiauto.com or soemthing simliar

Do I understand correctly that you want to buy a car from person A and sell your own car to somebody else (i.e. a dealer)?
if so:
You get rid of your car for a decent price and get an other one with a dealers guarantee also for a decent price.
In the mean time the dealer has to do 3 transactions (buy, buy and sell) and got stuck with a second hand car.
What do they get in return? Higher turnover, and some money as well. Perhaps, not even money to cover their normal course of operations, but then again, they have a confirmed buyer for at least one car.
It doesn't look like a good deal for the car dealer.
