If you don't understand Finnish and there is nobody who could help you in buying insurance online, you should go to the offices of the insurance companies/call them and get some quotes and then take the most suitable one. Some of the insurance providers are; POP, If, säästöpankki, Nordea, Lähitapiola, Aktia and Fennia. If you buy online it's mostly a bit cheaper. For an apartment in a multi-storey building insurance would roughly be 100-200 euros/year (but it depends).

I had in the past home insurance with AKTIA, but proved to be too complicated. Now use, and all my family too, FENNIA, which reliable old insurance companyt.

They do speak English, and re the terms and condition, they can help you in understanding the small print. IE. your own responsibility towards the initial costs, and what the insurance covers.

I use IF. It use to be Sampo and if you had everything, your banking and insurance with them you'd get some kind of bonus, cheaper rates or something. I wonder if that still exists? Cause I just pay the bill when it comes. I've never had to make a claim.
