Why? :)
The easiest way to look around here is the "Working Holiday" permit (if you qualify):

What is your educational background?

The working holiday permit would allow you to stay for maximum a year and work a bit, if you manage to find something. For more permanent job you need a residence permit for employed person and I would not expect you to be very employable right now. Continuing your education and enrolling to some school would be one option (you just missed the application period for most polytechnics for studies starting next autumn)

On the FinlandForum site, there is a term 'Goth Helsinki Syndrome' used to decribe people moving to Finland because of the bands that come from there
I doubt it works out well often.

You are still in High School? Or...? I would have suggested coming over as an exchange student, that would be the easiest, but that would have been this year if you now are in the last year of High School, so it's a bit late.

Coming here with absolutely no working experience (if I understood you right) with no language skills... that is a very uphill battle to fight. I don't say it's impossible to find work... but it's pretty close. How about working as an Au Pair for a year? Or continue your studies here?

Oh... and moving to Finland because you like heavy metal is like moving to Australia because you like kangaroos.

To live in Finland you need a reason. Scenery or friends are nice, but for Residence Permit you need a reason. Usual suspects are: job, family, studying. You should see www.migri.fi

Visa is for visiting, Residence Permit for residing.

You got a reply on the kinds of residence permits available (working holiday, study, employment) and where you can look for further information. it would not be particularly helpful to claim the employment prospects of non-EU alien, who does not speak the language and does not have stand out qualifications on some area with shortage of qualified job seekers, were good.

Indeed I cannot fathom a single worth while reason, apart from those relating to frequency of coitus, for anyone with real prospects, certainly not an Australian, to immigrate to Finland. If I had half a chance I'd probably be gone in an New York minute, alas I do not, too old at 46.

Now, now, no need to get testy. If you look around you will find all the info. you need online. Don´t get too upset, most of us idiots on this forum really do want to help but are not averse to having some fun now and then with the newbies. Besides, learning to deal with idiots will hold you in good stead in life.

And unlike Australia which expects all immigrants to be proficient in English and be able to prove it, bad spelling is not grounds for refusing you entry to this country.
