On a visa you are not allowed to work. Visas are only given for tourism purposes. You will need to apply for a residence permit. Information on residence permits and right to work is available at http://www.migri.fi.

Hi Haritha,

You are entitled to work if you are on a dependent visa ( Residence Permit).

In general in EU when you say "visa" it denotes a "Visit Visa" and a "Visa" for long stay is a "Residence Permit".

A dependent on a Residence Permit is entitled to undertake job as per provisions of Aliens Act.

Visa is for visiting, residence permit is for residing.
