Court - Trial Expenses

Post by Alex.Sm » Fri Apr 11, 2014 10:15 pm

Terve,
If you bring someone to court over a dispute, how exactly is going with the expenses, the party that loses pays the expenses or... ?

P.S. What expenses are we talking about? How much a trial costs in here? Can you represent yourself if you are not a lawyer?

The default is that the loosing party pays expenses for both parties. Usually people get some coverage for lawyer fees as part of their home insurance package.

The biggest chunk is the fees for lawyers and witnesses.

Lawyers bill by hour so it depends on how complex the case gets.

But you should have a watertight case otherwise the opponent(s lawyer) might find an exception and the case will blow up in your face.
