Electronic Citizenship application 2014

Hi Guys
so i got the notification today that the decision for my citizenship has been made...below is the trail of the status changes...now whats confusing is that why are they informing me about the appeal period being underway if at this point i don't know what the decision is...i still havent received the letter or anything from the police. does this mean that the decision was a no and and they are asking me to appeal already?
its confusing....any experience anyone?

Events of the application

21.05.2014 Application appeal period under way.
21.05.2014 Decision has been made. You will now be notified of the decision either through this e-service or by other means.
21.05.2014 Application decision is being notified.
12.05.2014 Application is being processed.
07.02.2014 Application has been initiated.
16.01.2014 Application has been received.

If you made an electronic application, then your account pages at migri.fi will have the decision there.

So guys, anyone know what ''Application appeal period under way.'' mean already?

It means that application is rejected???

In finland you can, by law, appeal ANY decision. Even positive ones. Ability to appeal doesnt mean decision is negative.
I know it sounds, and to be honest is, stupid but thats how things work.

Source: I am a finn and every single decision from goverment/similar has guide how to appeal.

off topic but where's why positive decision per se is not enough.

You claim for 5000€, you are awarded only 2000€. Though the decision on your claim is positive, you may not be satisfied with the outcome. So, you have rights to appeal

You will get info and right how you appeal even if decision is what you wanted and applied or even more.

That is good to hear. At least I may say there is still hope. Need to wait a letter to home to read the exact decision.

I am exactly in the same position as you guys.

At the beginning, I thought that the result would be negative but as far as I see from this forum, that wouldn't be the case (Although not sure 100%) We have to wait until the post arrives us:)

Yes, you are right! No need to worry since I received the letter with RP just now!! There is also a letter included which instructs the receiver how to appeal. It seems such notification is just a normal procedure as mentioned in a comment above!

The misunderstanding comes from "personalizing" the "Application" in the sentence.

Mandatory appeal period under way.
Period for Appeals has started.
Appeal period for all applications under way.

As i said you can appeal on any decision, positive or negative. "county decided to give you 200e, do you want to appeal", "kela decided you are entitled for unemployment fund, do you want to appeal".
This is my post but you may appeal.

To all the people who got this case. Did you guys manage to get a positive decision in the end?

My result was the following:

05.05.2015 Application appeal period under way.
05.05.2015 Decision has been made. You will now be notified of the decision either through this e-service or by other means.
05.05.2015 Application decision is being notified.

I would like to know how much does it cost to apply in money and effort and if it's worth appealing ?
I know it's been over a year for this thread but would be nice to have some input from you guys. Thanks in advance.

Application appeal period under way.

Its the "validity period" that allows the various agencies to submit info/data/reasons why you should or should not receive a Res permit.

Its a good thing.
For example
Employment res permit
application goes through poliisi or migri.
Then it goes to an employment office branch
Then it comes back to poliisi or migri.

Theres a certain "validity period for appeals" that must start and must end".
At some point, if a certain authority has not appealed, "then your application proceeds.
And also certain branches have the right to appeal another branches decision aswell(for example- The Employment office gives you the OK, but poliisi say your a bum, Poliisi needs to appeal that decision.
Its normal business for high level countries.
