I highly, highly recommend TransferWise. Fast, transparent and cheap. Originally setup by some of the original founders of Skype.

I know only Danske and Nordea to offer full service in English. Since most banks only offer service in Finnish and Swedish, the question is rather moot.

Is it better to wire in foreign currency or change in the home bank and wire euros? Does it differ when speaking about large one time transfers and small monthly ones?
!
Nordea (and most likely Danske) do have this information on their website. For example Nordea's charges:

Since you are a student, you most likely qualify for the check-in level. I second Ice_Man for Transferwise.

When you make a wire transfer I seem to remember you can choose whether the sender or the receiver pays the fees. So you should also check with your own bank in your home country and compare that with whatever the Finnish bank says.
