When I was in Turku, I got a couple of meters of regular chains for a completely different purpose from K-Rauta on Mustionkatu 1 (3 EUR per meter, if I recall correctly). I highly recommend that you don't use them to secure your bike as they can be easily cut.
What you want is a special locking chain (lukituskettinki). They're usually more resilient to cutters, but they're more expensive.
However, if you're willing to accept the risk, then go for the cheap regular ones.
Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.
