Is it safe to travel with Ukraine airline and over it ?

Hi All,

Is it safe to travel nowadays with Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) ? I wanna fly from Helsinki to another destination in another continent, and the flight is transit where it stops first in Boryspil International Airport for a few hours, then, Continues to its final destination.

What do you think ?

Any info from the federal aviation administration (FAA), the European aviation safety agency (EASA), or the international civil aviation organization (ICAO) concerning this matter ?

I have used UA to fly to Dubai via Kiev in October 2014 and in January 2015. No problems at all.
Just remember that they are not serving free meals anymore due to economical situation of the country.

I wouldn't fly over eastern Ukraine over or near the war zone, but that does not seem to be the question here. The airline does not seem to have had a poor safety record (if things would have broken apart during the last year, we probably wouldn't know). It has managed to get to number three on this list of "The 20 worst airlines In the World for flying economy".
