Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.

I think you severely understated the duties involved in working in an ice-cream kiosk. A part from selling and not selling ice-cream and asking about choc-top, most employees are expected to eat significant quantities of ice-cream themselves and also give equally significant amounts away to their friends.

Not impossible, but we mostly employed guys due to the physical strength required (especially for chocolate which is as hard as concrete at -18C), and the fact that they have fewer friends.
