Hi,
I'm super new and want to apologize in advance if this question has been asked before. I am American and looking to earn my ESL degree. I have 10 collective years of informal teaching experience with a focus on Life Skills and HIV/STD prevention for adjudicated youth. I also have multiple experience working with adults and children with developmental disabilities. Is there a need for ESL teachers in Finland or teaching assistants in Special Education? Thanks in advance for your feedback!
How much of a need is there for English teachers in Finland?
Re: How much of a need is there for English teachers in Finl
Im not a teacher, but my friend is a semi retired teacher(finnish).
Among other classes, he taught English to the young students. His English wasn't that good but it was better than the students. if that answers your question.

The need can mostly be met from EU nationals including Finns themselves who speak excellent English. I don't think you would be able to obtain residency (unless you are married to a Finn).
If you wanted to work in special needs you would probably need to have Finnish or Swedish.
