Application Process Question

Post by lpage160 » Sun Sep 06, 2015 9:54 am

I want to apply for university this upcoming year. I believe I saw that the application process starts in January.

I just want to clarify some things to make sure I'm absolutely clear.

So you apply to programms on studyinfo.fi?
From there it says I can apply to up to 6 degree programms listed by order of preference.

Now, do I take the entrance exam for each program I list and then they decide if I get in or do I get told which one I'm accepted to and then go take the entrance exam to see if I'm really accepted?

If I do get put on a waiting list I read in the forums that you can opt to go for the next on your list, how does that work?

Ideally I would like to get into a school and move over there asap. I know I need an official acceptance letter in order to get the necessary documents from the embassy. When do you usually get those letters?

Kiitos paljon! :D

I'd suggest you read the first post on this forum page, a lot of info there.

You'll also find answers to most questions from the studyinfo.fi page and/or on the pages of the university/applied sciences/etc school you want to apply to; from application proceesses to entrance exams to acceptance letter timelines. Just takes a bit of reading through. And you may also email the student info offices at each school for particulars.
