Hi
I am looking for companies that send you the eyeglass frames to test and buy if you like them.My friend used the similiar service about three years ago but I cannot remember the names neither does she. She said "google it" but it is of no help.
Can you suggest me such "online opticians"?
Best Regards

Online glasses frames to try
Re: Online glasses frames to try
Hi, I've used http://www.favoptic.fi/ , mentioned above, some years ago. This is based on my satisfactory experience with them, I'm not affiliated.
I got 4 pairs to test at home at a time, free shipping back in the same boxes, etc. And no strings attached - very important in my opinion! Not forced to buy anything. Also, you only pay after receiving the final product. They offer a full return right policy, after you get your glasses, if you're not happy (I didn't need this, I was happy with mine.)
You can also load up your photo online and try if you can test the specs onto the photo... not ideal or great, but at least gives some direction about what you could order for home testing.
Then can order in another batch, if one of the first ones were suitable.
If you find good specs, you then use a provided marker to approximately dab the location of your pupils on the test glasses (so they know the height, how the specs sit on your nose), and when ordering, you'll send/email them a copy of the vision charts and other info from your optician.
I got my glasses from there in a few weeks, they worked great. Their service was prompt and reliable, customer service answers questions via email quite quickly (I usually get answered within a day).
Nowadays you can even design your own glasses there, using a selection of frames and bows. Haven't tested that out, though.
I don't know if SpecSavers does online stuff here, as they got shopfronts. Also a good, less expensive option but you'd have to pop in yourself (I've had a pair from them a few years ago).

I used to do favoptic, you can go to a specsavers and get a cheap eye test and then use that to order from favoptic.

That is an excellent advice. Would do that definitely.Pursuivant wrote:I used to do favoptic, you can go to a specsavers and get a cheap eye test and then use that to order from favoptic.
Are there any more such online companies that deliver in Finland(if they are based in other EU or foreign countries). I am interested in a fair comparison. My new glasses are already due like 4 months ago, but I have not yet made up my mind.
Previously, I got both the eye prescription(free of cost) and frames+glasses from Instrumentarium when they offered €1 frame and basically all you had to pay was for your lens, and its extras such as anti scratch, anti glare, lens thinning etc.I have waited for that offer all summer. Don't think they or any other opticians will do such an offer this year!

If time is of the essence, I would recommend going to Nissen, got my reading glasses in 2 weeks, they were too strong, got the good ones one week later..maple wrote:That is an excellent advice. If god would give us the source code, we could change the world
